Good for academic papers

I recently purchased the Pro Plan, primarily for the Academic Research Tool and the Multi-document Synthesis Tool. The onboarding process was smooth, and I received a confirmation email instantly. I uploaded several lengthy PDF research papers, and the AI PDF Tutor did a surprisingly good job of extracting key concepts and generating summaries. The Document Chatbot feature was also helpful for quick queries about specific sections. Delivery, being a digital service, was immediate. I did have a small question about file formats, and customer support responded within a few hours. Overall, it significantly streamlined my literature review process.

Decent tool, fast results

Used the YouTube Video Summarizer for a long webinar. It worked well. Got the summary almost instantly. Pretty accurate. Made studying faster. Worth trying.

Helpful, but some minor issues

I got the Premium Subscription Plan because I needed to analyze a lot of lecture recordings. The Lecture Recording Analyzer was mostly excellent, turning hours of audio into text and even highlighting important points. This was a huge time-saver. However, occasionally, the transcription had a few errors, especially with more technical jargon, which I had to correct manually. The interface was straightforward to navigate, and I appreciated the quick access to different tools. For the price, it's a good value, but they could probably improve the accuracy of the specialized transcriptions a bit more.

Really helped with my notes

I tried out the Note-taking AI feature and it was pretty cool. I uploaded a lecture recording and it gave me a summary. Saved me some time for sure. The platform was easy to figure out, which was nice. I'd use it again for tough lectures.

is the free trial any good? like, does it actually let you do enough to see if it's worth it?

A Anna 1 month ago
It's decent. You can try out the basics, upload a few PDFs, summarize a short video. Enough to get a feel for it.

Yeah, it's not super limited. You get a good idea of how the AI tutor works and the summarizing features. Definitely worth trying before you pay.

Does anyone know if YouLearn supports uploading multiple PDFs at once for like, cross-referencing or something? Or do I have to do them one by one?

T Troy 1 month ago
Yeah, it does! There's a feature called 'Multi-document Synthesis Tool' or something similar. It's pretty cool for research.

Yep, you can upload a bunch and ask questions across all of them. Used it for a big research paper last semester, worked great.

Thinking of signing up for YouLearn. Is it really better than just using ChatPDF or something similar? Like, what's the actual difference?

M Mark 2 months ago
I've used both and YouLearn is way more interactive. ChatPDF is just Q&A, but YouLearn felt more like a real tutor trying to explain stuff.

Yeah, if you just need to ask a few questions about a doc, ChatPDF is fine. But for really digging into a topic or turning videos into study guides, YouLearn is much better, imo.

what kind of files can you actually upload to YouLearn? just PDFs or like, word docs too?

K Kevin Kim 2 months ago
Mostly PDFs, but I think it handles some other text-based files too. Check their FAQ on supported formats.

PDFs for sure, and I've uploaded text files successfully. Not sure about Word docs directly, usually convert those to PDF first to be safe.

Can you actually cancel the premium subscription anytime? Or do they lock you in for a year?

O Omar Brooks 1 month ago
Yeah, I canceled my monthly one without any fuss. It just stops at the end of your billing cycle.

I think you can cancel anytime, even with the annual. You just won't get a refund for the unused months, it'll just run till the end of the year you paid for.
